Baxters' Cattle Company offers a regular circuit of shows each year. They are held at the Annapolis Valley Exhibition grounds in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia. Divisions offered at these shows are Open, Amateur and Youth. There's a Gymkhana show Friday evenings, Penning all day Saturday and Sunday.

Team Cattle Penning Show Format
Each team have guaranteed 2 runs with a call back of the top 10 teams or 50% of the division, whichever is less, for a third run. Top 10 will be calculated after 3rd run.
Year end awards will be calculated using a point system based on the number of teams.
Example: 30 teams
1st - 30 points
2nd - 29 points
3rd - 28 points
4th - 27 points
5th - 26 points

.
28th - 3 points
29th - 2 points
30th - 1 point
Teams with 0 cattle penned would not receive points.
Ties broken by highest number of 1st’s, if still tied highest number 2nd’s, and continued on till the tie was broken.

Gymkhana Shows
There are three divisions: Division 1, Division 2, and Youth with classes in Barrels, Poles, and Dash - also a 3D Barrel class for everyone. These shows are held on Friday evenings. Registration 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. Start time 7:00 p.m.

$25.00 per person per team - 3 go's
In ranch sorting, there are two round pens, separated by an opening. Cattle are numbered and are sorted between pens in ascending numerical order by two mounted riders. For example if the announcer calls "4", the riders begin by cutting the cow numbered 4 and moving it to the other pen. They then sort 5, 6, 7, 8, etc. If a cow is sorted out of order, or if one comes back across the foul line from the other pen it is judged a 'no time'.
Teamwork is the key with two riders working in harmony to cut out the correctly numbered cattle and drive them to the other pen while keeping the wrong numbered cattle back.
